In 2003, Intervention200X ® was created to refocus interventional cardiology on sound science and objective education in the United States. A group of senior interventional cardiologists from both academic and private practice arenas collaborated to build an educational forum inclusive of a variety of opinions which allowed practice leaders to network and interact with colleagues in a substantive educational setting.
The American Cardiovascular Research Institute approached Moceri Management regarding how to develop a true integration of speakers and audience. “We recommended having multiple symposium sites and connecting those sites using bi-directional simulcasting to allow real-time communication between each location. This cutting-edge conference design allowed practice leaders to network and interact with their colleagues in a substantive educational setting while minimizing travel for physicians,” stated Toni Knopf, CEO of Moceri Management.
In 2005, the American College of Cardiology Foundation (ACCF) approached the Intervention200X steering committee and Moceri Management regarding making Intervention200X part of the ACCF’s Annual Scientific Sessions. Intervention200X was consistent with the ACCF’s mission to proactively address dramatic changes in healthcare and cardiovascular technology and was deemed to be “best in class” within the interventional community. In 2006, Intervention200X was merged into i2 Summit 2006: Innovation in Intervention, incorporating the Intervention200X ® symposium, its companion programs, and its core steering committee members into the ACCF’s Annual Scientific Sessions.
Moceri Management continued to coordinate the symposium under the guidance of the ACCF with particular emphasis on the development of global live case transmissions, simulation training, the fellows’ boot camp program, content development, logistical planning and project management.
